Spring Open Day at Life Space Cabins: Experiencing High Quality UK Cabins in Person
For anyone researching high quality UK cabins, visiting a working design and build studio can be one of the most valuable steps in understanding the difference between a standard cabin and one designed for longevity, comfort and architectural quality.
With spring around the corner, we hosted our first cabin Open Day of the year at our South Devon HQ.
Our open days are a wonderful opportunity for guests to experience our cabins in person. While photographs and videos are helpful, it’s difficult to truly appreciate the design, craftsmanship and finish of high quality cabins through a screen. Seeing them in real life allows visitors to step inside, take in the proportions, materials and atmosphere, and really get a feel for the space.
For many people exploring high quality UK cabins, this first-hand experience can be invaluable when deciding what kind of cabin is right for their project.

What Defines High Quality UK Cabins?
Not all cabins are created equal. High quality UK cabins are defined by their structural integrity, thoughtful design and long-term durability. From robust framing systems and high-performance insulation to carefully detailed glazing and finishes, these elements combine to create cabins that perform well in the British climate while delivering a refined, comfortable space for everyday use.
The Recap: Cabin Open Day March 2026
Discovering Our Signature Cabin
During the day, visitors were able to step inside our Signature Cabin, explore the layout and see how thoughtful design can transform a compact footprint into a spacious, calming environment.
Many guests commented on the sense of light and openness within the cabin – something that is difficult to fully convey online. Careful detailing, generous glazing and considered proportions all contribute to the feeling of space that defines truly high quality cabins.
Behind the Scenes in the Workshop
Guests were also invited into our workshop to see a cabin currently in production. This behind-the-scenes element is always a highlight of our open days, as it allows visitors to see the materials, craftsmanship and build process that sit behind our high quality UK cabins.
From structural framing to cladding and finishing details, it offers a deeper understanding of how design and construction come together to create cabins that are built to last.
The cabin nearing completion during this open day was a luxury holiday rental for our client, The Wild Root Escape. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and seeing the vision come to life. For those interested in following the next stage of the journey, you can keep up with the project via The Wild Root Escape.
Meeting the Team
Our full design and build team were on hand throughout the morning to answer questions and talk through a wide range of cabin projects. Visitors came with ideas for everything from garden studios and guest accommodation to commercial glamping and holiday rental cabins.
These conversations are always one of the most valuable parts of the day, as they allow people to discuss their ideas openly and begin exploring what might be possible for their site.
Visiting Rusty Sheds
Guests also travelled a short distance down the road to visit Rusty Sheds, our sister company, where two of our cabins are installed within a beautiful natural setting.
Seeing high quality cabins within a working hospitality environment gives visitors a real sense of how these spaces perform in the landscape and how guests interact with them.
Thank You for Joining Us
It was a pleasure to welcome so many people to our HQ and share what we do. Open days are always a highlight for our team – a chance to connect with people at the early stages of their cabin journey and to showcase the care and craftsmanship behind our high quality UK cabins.
If you weren’t able to attend this time, we’ll be hosting more open days later in the year.
And of course, if you’re currently exploring ideas for a cabin project, you’re always welcome to get in touch with our team to start the conversation.
Thinking About Your Own Cabin Project?
Many visitors who attend our open days are in the early stages of exploring ideas – whether for a garden studio, guest accommodation or a commercial hospitality venture.
Seeing high quality UK cabins in person often helps clarify what’s possible and what level of design and build quality is worth investing in.
If you’re currently considering a cabin project and would like to explore the possibilities, our team would be happy to have an initial conversation and offer some early guidance.
