On Sat 02 December there is a movement to encourage people to shop small this Christmas. The initiative is now in its fifth year and is driven by Small Business Saturday using hashtags such as #SmallBizSatUK and #meetthemaker. The Instagram community is very much backing this campaign.
Small Business Saturday UK is a not-for-profit, grassroots campaign, which exists to support, inspire and promote small business, on the first Saturday in December each year, and beyond. The campaign encourages businesses to promote themselves and work with other small businesses and encourage consumers to ‘shop local’
The team at Life Space Cabins will be visiting our local craft shop Artworks, The Devon Guild of Craftsmen and we’re also very excited to to visit the pop up shop in Buckfastleigh which is a one off gathering of some of the south-west’s finest up and coming brands and their founders, for a day of festivities and alternative Christmas gifts organised by the brilliant Solid Wool
As a small fledgling business ourselves we’re always up for a collaboration and know these are the perfect hotbeds for this to happen.
But it shouldn’t stop after this Saturday there are some other brilliant events being organised including Frome Independent Market on Sun 03 December and Native Makers Winter event on 16/17 December in Plymouth Royal William Yard.
So lets do this.
Think outside the box. Think Local, Think Handmade
